Op. Dr. Ömer Arıkan was born in 1958 in Eskişehir, Turkey. He graduated from Diyarbakır Medical Faculty in 1982 and completed his compulsory service as a general practitioner in Orhaneli district of Bursa for two years.

He completed his General Surgery specialization at S.S.K. Istanbul Hospital in 1988. He worked in the surgical departments of Kilis State Hospital, Kartal State Hospital, and S.S.K. Göztepe Hospital as part of the training staff. Since 1992, he has served as Chief Physician and General Surgery Specialist at several private hospitals, including the V.K.V. American Hospital.

He participated as an observer at UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) and Northwestern University. From 2013 to 2023, he worked in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

Op. Dr. Ömer Arıkan currently serves as a General Surgery Specialist (Consultant Physician) at Healme Clinic.
